At the age of 9 the Head of Unisa’s Music Faculty (Prof. Josuas Van der Merwe) recognized her talent and exclusively offered to develop her full potential personally. He agreed that her talent was being wasted at conventional tutoring classes.
Teresa at age 11 played with the Johannesburg’s Symphonic Orchestra as being selectively chosen as one of two pianists out of the whole continent of Africa.
She won various competitions throughout her musical career and also went on to study B Tech Light Music at the Technicon of Pretoria while proceeding with classical exams at Unisa.
Musical Minds has originated from a life’s dream becoming a reality. We couldn’t believe that it has been since 2009 that Teresa has left her corporate position in real-estate financing and persued her dream of music. She started out tutoring students on a part-time basis and this started to pan out .
Tiaan her husband of 9 years has joined her fulltime since January 2010 in the business tutoring music in piano, guitar and beginners drums. He left his fulltime position in marketing to join their joint dream and passion. He also has a creative and colorful background in music.
